BGInfo is a tiny application for Windows from Microsoft, which displays relevant information about your computer on your desktop's background, such as the computer name, IP address, service pack version, and more.

This may be useful, for example, if you manage multiple computers and want to know important aspects of its configuration occasionally like IP address, OS version, etc you probably need BGInfo.
