Wikipedia is the free encyclopedia that everyone loves to use. Perhaps, the only complaint is that Wikipedia is sometimes inaccurate.
When not connected to the internet, using Wikipedia wasn’t possible. Until now.
The Wikimedia Foundation (which is behind Wikipedia) has released an offline Wikipedia for Schools which has
5500 articles on selected topics and can be burned to a DVD for offline reading.
The Wikipedia for Schools DVD is targeted at school children in the age group of 8-18, and has only content suitable for them. Wikimedia states that all unsuitable content (mainly adult/adult-related content) has been removed by SOS volunteers.
Wikipedia for Schools is about 3GB in size and is available on BitTorrent.
