Send Group Messages Easily (E-mail, SMS, AIM and Yahoo IM)

Send a message to an individual or group, know if the message was received, and gather responses to make quick decisions.

Notifu is a new web-based service that will enable you to send group messages in an instant manner, and know if they were received or not.

Messages can be sent in several ways including e-mail, SMS, AIM and Yahoo IM. When sending a message, you can prompt recipients to choose from a given set of choices that include when and where to meet and concrete information such as what to eat, how to dress and so forth.

In principle, you must register to use Notifu, but a “Try it unregistered” option is also provided, and it will let you see if Notifu is right for you or not without having to undergo the registration process.

In any case, registering only entails providing account and contact information. Still, the “Try it unregistered” feature is a nice touch.

Wikimedia Launches Wikipedia For Schools DVD For Offline Uses

Wikipedia is the free encyclopedia that everyone loves to use. Perhaps, the only complaint is that Wikipedia is sometimes inaccurate.

When not connected to the internet, using Wikipedia wasn’t possible. Until now.

The Wikimedia Foundation (which is behind Wikipedia) has released an offline Wikipedia for Schools which has 5500 articles on selected topics and can be burned to a DVD for offline reading.

The Wikipedia for Schools DVD is targeted at school children in the age group of 8-18, and has only content suitable for them. Wikimedia states that all unsuitable content (mainly adult/adult-related content) has been removed by SOS volunteers.

Wikipedia for Schools is about 3GB in size and is available on BitTorrent.
